Live Pod Sessions with a Dedicated, Expert Facilitator
Twelve 2-hour live sessions with your pod and facilitator, informed by Third Wave’s 5-pillar psychedelic coaching framework, to integrate the teaching material through reflection, discussion, and application. Expect to form close relationships with your group. These sessions may include guided group conversations, breathwork, and other facilitated practices to support your growth.

Monthly Workshops, Included in Your Tuition

Preparation – Practitioner self-preparation and client readiness — intention setting, expectation shaping, safety/logistics planning, and the physiology of preparation.
Holding Space – Relational and somatic skills: attunement, boundaries, rupture/repair, shadow awareness, and meaning-making.
Integration – Designing and delivering integration: 6-week arcs, outcome tracking, sustaining change, ethical handoffs.
Advanced Cases & Edges – Complex cases, working with trauma, crisis and repair, legal/ethical edges, sacred justice and cultural humility.
Business Foundations – Translate training into a compliant offer: positioning, enrollment skills, pipeline and onboarding systems.

Who is this certification designed for?
Our certification program is designed for a diverse range of individuals passionate about personal growth and the transformative potential of plant medicines. This includes:

- Professionals from various backgrounds seeking a career transition into psychedelic coaching

What happens at the biweekly Q&A?
It’s a free, live session hosted by Founder Paul F. Austin, with Program Director Chloe Gott on hand for the practical details. Bring your background, your goals, and whatever you need answered to decide: which program fits you, the real numbers on tuition and time commitment, and your specific situation. Do I need to be a credentialed coach to apply?
No. There are no licensing or certification requirements to participate in the program.
What is the time commitment for the certification program?
Plan to spend 4-6 hours per week on coursework, including recordings, live calls, peer triads, study and assignments.
When are the live sessions?
Live pod sessions are held bi-weekly on Wednesdays at 9am PT.
What is the Practicum and why is it required?
You will complete and log practice hours throughout the duration of the program, totaling a minimum of 50 practice hours by the end. After completing the six monthly modules, there is a final ‘Practicum’ month dedicated for completing your practice hours and final assignment. There is no new coursework or classes during the Practicum month.
How do I become eligible for placement in the Directory?
Participants will be expected to demonstrate consistent ethical and professional integrity. Only graduates who fully understand all course materials, receive high marks from their coach mentor on assignments, and demonstrate ongoing support for their fellow course participants will be invited to be listed on the Third Wave Directory.
Do you provide training on how to run and market a coaching business?
Yes. The final module, Business Foundations, focuses on translating your training into a compliant, credible offer: positioning, enrollment skills, pipeline and onboarding systems. Beyond the curriculum, you’ll be eligible for a listing in our Practitioner Directory upon graduation (for those who meet criteria), access to our exclusive alumni network, and ongoing support through our community.
How much does the program cost?
Tuition for the online certification is $7,500. Pre-sale pricing of $5,000 is available through November 1, and early bird pricing of $6,500 runs from November 2 to December 21. Bring any questions about the investment to our free biweekly Q&A and we’ll walk through the numbers live.
Is there a payment plan?
Yes, we offer flexible payment plans. After your consultation and acceptance into the program, you’ll have options for financing your tuition. We offer payment plans through Affirm with interest rates starting at 0% depending on your approval. If you’re not approved for Affirm, we’ll work with you to create a custom payment plan that fits your needs. Please note that if we handle the payment plan internally, an additional fee will apply.
Can I pay with Bitcoin?

Are there any scholarship opportunities available?
Yes, we offer the Psychedelic Coaching Institute Scholarship Fund to make our Practitioner Certification Program more accessible to passionate individuals facing financial challenges. We offer partial tuition subsidies for qualified applicants, and the scholarship is open to veterans, single parents, and others facing financial hardship. Mention your interest in scholarship opportunities on your application or at the live Q&A, and if you’re accepted into the program, we’ll discuss your specific needs and scholarship possibilities.
Do you train practitioners to serve psychedelic medicines or facilitate journeys?
This is a coaching certification, not a facilitation training. While we do teach many skills of facilitation including holding space, we do not train you to facilitate medicine journeys. We do not train you to provide, source or administer any substance.
We do train you to do all the work surrounding a psychedelic experience: assessment, preparation, integration, and microdosing support, delivered legally and ethically. Our curriculum also covers scope of practice and risk in depth.
Does the program have an explicit ethics policy?
At the Psychedelic Coaching Institute, we hold ourselves to the highest standards of integrity and values. Our ethics are vital to our business model. Our Ethics Pledge is published here, and an independent ethics committee that sits outside Institute leadership provides a confidential channel for every student.
Am I guaranteed a certificate? How does “graduation” work?
In addition to meeting our attendance and homework requirements, you will be required to conduct and submit for review practice coaching sessions with a client (recorded anonymously and deleted after review), and given a final assessment after completing the training. Upon passing this assessment, you will be awarded your Psychedelic Coaching Institute Coaching Certification certificate and all the perks that go with it.
